History of the Staré kino
The Staré kino restaurant (the Old Cinema Restaurant) is located in the historic centre of the town of Bojnice, on the main square, not far from the romantic palace. It is housed in the original spaces of a building from the past century, where the first town cinema was once open. The local atmosphere breathes the history of this place and recalls the grand old days of great stars of the silver screen: it was here that many stories full of passion, joy, emotion and tension were enacted. The film life of the likes of the eternal tramp Charlie Chaplin, the beautiful Sophia Loren, the superb Louis de Funès, the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe or the charismatic Paul Newman was played out within these walls.
The spaces are adorned with original period posters of films and actors, old film projectors, film reels and other historical artefacts associated with the film industry.
The Staré kino restaurant is a lively everyday gathering place for people who honour history and tradition and at the same time like originality. A number of delightful cultural events take place here during the year, such as the screening of films, a quality summer international jazz festival, art exhibitions, the showing of travel films and more...
As the first cinema in the town, the Staré kino is forever inscribed in the history of Bojnice. At the same time, however, it breathes its present life and searches for optimism and hope for the future...

The head chef and his team
The goal of the team under the leadership of an experienced head chef is to provide our guests in this unique setting and with its inspirational atmosphere quality cuisine prepared from fresh ingredients and using recipes that always offer something original. We combine the enjoyment of good food with the tradition of a good old film house. We offer seating for 40 guests in the interior spaces and 60 places on the summer terrace.
